In October 2011 Atherton Churches Together held an exhibition to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible, in St John's Church. All the primary schools in the town were invited to make a display based on a biblical character.

The Churches Together in Atherton held a prayer weeend to celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The event was held in Atherton Parish church. Gazebos were set up in the church to give a number of zones.
